Step 1: Schedule Your Appointment

Instructions:

FOLLOW UP PATIENTS: Please contact us for a 20 minute follow-up appointment.

CANCER or PREGNANCY: If you’re currently pregnant, have thyroid cancer, or need an evaluation for ethanol ablation, first schedule an appointment as described below.  Then email us at office@charlestonthyroid.com with your name, phone number, & diagnosis.  We will do our best to move up your appointment, whenever possible.

OTHER ENDOCRINE DIAGNOSES: We are a thyroid-specific medical practice.  We do not treat patients with pituitary issues, diabetes, adrenal, or parathyroid diagnoses.

NEW PATIENTS: Use the form below for a 40-minute appointment.  We’re licensed to see patients who live in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.**  Our clinic policy is that you must be seen in person at least once per year.  If you live far from Charleston, you can also look at our separate telehealth-only practice MyThyroidDoctor.

  1. Choose a Provider and schedule an appointment.
  2. All new patients will schedule with one of our Midlevels.  Dr. Henderson has personally trained all of our Providers and also reviews all cases, charts, and discusses all treatment plans daily.  However, due to time constraints and the sheer number of patients that we see, she currently only sees new patients on MyThyroidDoctor.
  3. If you don’t receive a confirmation email AND confirm, it did not schedule properly.  Check your spam folder.
  4. Review the Forms & FAQ page which includes forms to fill out, documents to read, and answers many questions.
  5. Show up 10-15 minutes early.  Unlike most medical offices, we always run on time.  If you’re more than 5 minutes late, your appointment may be rescheduled.
  6. A $50 charge will be added to your account for not showing up or for failing to cancel at least 24 hours before.

* Our normal wait time for new appointments is 2-3 months.

** We are licensed in AZ, FL, GA, MN, NC, OH, SC, TN, & VA.  Patients must be physically located in one of these states at the time of all telehealth appointments.  If you live in other states, we can still see you in person, but you must have a local doctor who can follow-up, titrate medicine, and answer questions until you come back to Charleston.
