HOW TO CHECK YOUR THYROID GLAND

Checking your own thyroid is simple and easy to do:

  1. Get a mirror and a glass of water.
  2. Tilt your head back.
  3. Take a sip of water.
  4. As you swallow, focus on the neck in the area above the breastbone and below the Adam’s apple.
  5. Look for lumps, protrusions, or fullness. Also take note of anything asymmetrical, where you only see the thyroid on one side and not the other.
